The View From The Center

Connecting With The Sacred

Can you remember your very first God-Experience?  Have you ever had an experience of a beautiful frozen moment in time?  We are each called to God early in our lives.  If you reflect upon your life, you can find these moments. It really didn’t matter where you were, what you were, who you were with or what you were doing.  What mattered most was that you connected with the Sacred within you.

Some call these “Kodak moments” – picture-perfect – while feeling so “alive” and in touch with the purpose and value of your life.  We catch a glimpse of a greater reality from these moments as we feel so small in Gods Infinite Universe.  We “get it” for a nanosecond – we sense a deeper knowing that we are supposed to be here.

Can we readily create these Kodak moments in our lives?  And can we learn to live this way? Yes, we can!  We live from our hearts while seeing God in the Center of everything around us, and more.  We simply go to the Center of every single moment.  That Center is where God is.  Finding that God-Center – the eye in the hurricane of life, we find peace within it.  Rumi says it beautifully:  “Calm in the midst of lightening stands the cause of lightening.” In the Center where God lies is where the peace of the moment lies.  It is where we feel most aligned with the power of God, and the wonder of life.

Going to the Center means when you are at work planning the budget that you remember that you are a spark of God, becoming aware of the gifts of that moment.  Though your mind computes away, your heart flows with the people around you.  You remember to look deep into their eyes for the light of God.  You weave words to the melody of their smile.  You touch their heart with your kindness and hope, becoming conscious of the Center of the moment.

In a meeting room, look around you.  Though your mind is working wildly on the subject at hand, your heart is looking for an opening to flow.  And the words that come from your lips are riding on a carpet of goodness and love.  Your heart never sees another unkindly, and if your co-worker speaks unkindly, you can feel that his heart is not at peace.  If you are focused on the Center, you can send their heart your love and acceptance.

To live in the Center means when you stroll from your house or office to the car, you wake up to the beauty of this moment all around you.  You not only glimpse at it, you inhale it all into your heart and savor it.  Looking at the fall colors you realize that God is in the Center of this beauty.  A bird flies overhead, and you marvel at its powerful wings in flight. Waking up to Presence you can see God in action at the very Core of life’s miracle.

Most of us live as if we alone are the Center of the Universe, and that the world revolves around us. Have you ever imagined yourself on the petal of a flower?  Have you ever seen the world from the Center? Our way of looking at life is from our ego’s eyes.  This is often the reason for our loneliness.  See life from the Center of the moment, God’s eyes, with a new awareness of a greater reality!

Each moment you live in presence is a moment with God.  Each moment of your awareness and consciousness of the Center is a moment of joy and bliss – an eternally present moment.  We can see the world’s harmony with new awareness from this place which is indeed the brighter side of life!  Realize that we are not the Center of the Universe.  God is!

Make a vow to live your life differently than ever before!  Wake up to real meaning and purpose!   Align your true Self by finding God in the Center of the Present Moment and you can begin to feel the experience of God!  Connect with the Sacred within you!
